Fishing Lakes at Storkesøen – Put & Take for the Whole Family

Our lakes are well stocked with fish, making trout fishing a great experience:

Large lakes: Rainbow trout, golden trout, and brown and brook trout from 1 to 5 kg
Children’s lake: Portion-sized trout from 400–900 g

We carry out daily stocking from mid-March to June and from September to November.

July/August: No fish are stocked due to water temperatures exceeding 20°C.

Information regarding fish stocking during the summer period:

Period: 1 July – 31 August
(due to water temperatures above 20°C)

During this period, no fish are stocked in the lakes. Fishing remains available, and fishing hours are sold at a reduced rate of 50% of the standard prices.

Punch cards cannot be used or purchased during this period.

🔍 Background:

This decision is based on experience from the past 10 years and general conditions affecting fish welfare during warm periods:

• Water temperatures above 20°C affect fish physiology and increase stress levels
• Higher temperatures reduce oxygen levels in the water
• The combination of increased oxygen demand and lower oxygen levels may lead to higher mortality during stocking
• Fish activity typically decreases at higher temperatures, affecting catch rates

What does this mean in practice?

• No fish stocking from 1 July to 31 August when water temperatures exceed 20°C
• Fishing remains available at reduced prices
• Punch cards are temporarily unavailable

The volume of fish normally stocked in July and August (approx. 1.5 tonnes) will be stocked once water temperatures drop below 20°C again. Stocking in September will proceed as planned and be distributed throughout the month.

During the winter period (December–mid-March), larger quantities are stocked as needed.

There is no catch limit, except in the children’s lake, where special rules apply.
